The Delta ASDA-A2 series (models such as ASD-A2-0121-L, ASD-A2-3023-L, ASD-A2-7543-M, etc.) is a family of AC servo drives designed for high‑precision, high‑response motion control when paired with Delta ECMA servo motors. Unlike a general‑purpose VFD, ASDA-A2 is optimized for position, speed, and torque control and is widely used in CNC machinery, packaging, printing, electronics assembly, and other servo‑grade applications.
ASDA-A2 drives support power ratings from 100 W up to 15 kW, covering single‑/three‑phase 220 V and three‑phase 400 V input classes. They feature a 20‑bit incremental encoder (up to 1,280,000 pulses/rev) for very fine positioning, advanced vibration suppression filters, and auto / manual tuning to simplify commissioning and improve machine stability. A built‑in E‑CAM function (up to about 720 cam points) enables complex synchronized motion such as flying shear, rotary knife, and electronic gearing, while PR (internal position) mode allows user‑defined motion profiles using Delta’s ASDA-Soft software.
Communication and control interfaces include pulse train input, analog command, and industrial networks such as RS‑232/RS‑485, CANopen, DMCNET, and in dedicated variants EtherCAT (ASDA-A2-E), supporting multi‑axis synchronization and integration into modern motion systems. Protection functions cover overcurrent, over/undervoltage, motor overheat, regenerative error, overload, overspeed, abnormal pulse command, encoder fault, and more, helping ensure safe and reliable operation in harsh industrial environments from around 0–55 °C and up to 90% non‑condensing humidity.
