Delta’s ASD-A04 Series refers to the lower‑power models of the ASDA‑A AC servo drive family (for example, 230 V 0.1–0.4 kW units such as ASD-A0121‑A, ASD-A0221‑A, ASD-A0421‑A), which are designed to drive Delta AC servo motors (ASMT/ECMA series) in compact machinery. These drives provide precise position, speed, and torque control and support high‑speed current and speed loops using a DSP‑based control platform, making them suitable for pick‑and‑place devices, labeling machines, light conveyors, and small handling or packaging axes.
In the 230 V class 0.1–0.4 kW range, ASDA‑A drives operate from a single‑phase 200–230 V AC input and deliver rated outputs matching small servo motors, with overload capability typically 300% peak current and speed ranges up to 3000 rpm or higher, depending on the motor. They support multiple control modes (pulse command position control, analog speed/torque control, internal PR positioning, etc.) and offer auto‑tuning, S‑curve acceleration/deceleration, electronic gear, and built‑in low‑pass filters to improve motion smoothness and reduce vibration. The drives are “open type” and must be installed inside a protective control cabinet, following NEMA/IEC enclosure requirements.
Standard I/O includes several digital inputs and outputs, analog input and output channels, and pulse command inputs (pulse+direction, CW/CCW, A/B phase), with maximum input pulse frequencies up to the hundreds of kHz to low MHz range (model‑dependent), allowing direct connection from PLC high‑speed outputs or motion controllers. Protection functions cover over‑voltage, under‑voltage, over‑current, servo error, motor overheat, and encoder faults, and the drives support basic alarm history and status monitoring via front indicators and Delta’s ASDA‑Soft PC software.
